In Retrospect: R E B A P
Twenty eight years ago, a group of concerned and dedicated licensed real estate brokers bonded together and dedicated themselves to pursue their common objectives of truly professionalizing the real estate industry and raising the level of ethical standards of licensed real estate practitioners. With this noble purpose in mind and adhering to the ideas they firmly believed in, they established an entirely new association known as the Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (REBAP).
To fill the specific needs of investors, buyers and sellers of real estate, REBAP instituted a class of expert real estate professionals called “Certified Real Estate Brokers” or CRBs for short. Every CRB is an expert in listing, negotiating, selling, investments, taxes and other real estate related matters and is ready to render services to the community he circulates in. Each is a part of a larger network of real estate professionals.
REBAP was formally registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 4, 1979 as a non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian and non-political corporation. CRB Rafael Pula was elected the first Chairman to head an 11-man board of directors composed of CRBs Alberto Filamor, Carlos Beloso, Virgilio Gener, Razul Requesto, Victorino Soliven, Francisco Saez, Jr., Alejandro Manio, Ernesto Maloles, Edgar Pascual and Bonifacio Regalado. The board along with Eliseo Cordero, Fernando Lising, Ruben Tiosejo and Zenaida Panlilio were signatories to REBAPs Articles of Incorporation.
As early as its beginnings, REBAP has made its presence felt in business, government and other sectors of society by constantly articulating its stands on issues affecting the real estate industry and more so, the public which it serves. Through the years, the association steadily grew in membership and gained recognition as a vigilant, innovative and resolute group.
Today, REBAP is a strong force of more than 500 regular and associate members spread over 21 chapters in Metro Manila and the provinces. It will continue to expand by establishing more chapters in key areas of the country’s 13 regions and invite to its fold the still many licensed real estate brokers who desire to pursue the same goal as ours with the end of finding fulfillment in their real estate careers.
Under the leadership of its current national president CRB JULIUS G. TOPACIO, REBAP has maintained its position as the premiere real estate organization in the country, taking the forward steps in keeping REBAP as Soaring High!
Its main headquarters is located at 2/F CREBA Center, Alejandro Roces Avenue cor South “A” St., Quezon City, Philippines with telephone numbers 373-2281; telefax no. 374-2496; e-mail at rebapnational@yahoo.com and website: www.rebap.com.ph.
VISION
“To be the most solid Network of Certified Real Estate Brokers committed to excellence in the pratice of the Realty Trade”.
MISSION STATEMENT
To develop a network of real estate practitioners who abide by the highest ethical & professional standards; and to provide, enhance and promote business oportunities for its members. In doing so, REBAP sees to meeting the needs of the clientele it serves.
GOAL
The primary goal of the real estate broker is to close a real estate sale. Accomplished in the most ethical and professional manner, this objective is perpetually congruent with the higher purpose and mission expressed in the REBAP Credo. With each consummated sale, we contribute to the realization of this sacred mission. By working together in a spirit of harmony, creative cooperation and interdependence, we unleash the greater powers within the individual member and the organization. The miracle of synergy empowers us to create a totally new different reality that is greater than the sum of what individuals working independently can ever achieve or create. As we are empowered, we emerge a principle-centered organization ready for the challenge of our noble and sacred mission. This is the primary reason for the existence of the REBAP organization.
